Hello and welcome

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Georges Elchakieh and I am the CEO of el-live Productions. I would like to welcome you to our website and our world to give you a brief history of who we are, what we do and why we’re doing it. We are NOT your typical talent agency.

Montreal

I have been a professional musician for over 25 years working full time as a drummer and a front man. I started out in Montreal where I created my first band “According To Roger” in 1986 while attending the music program at Concordia University. Montreal, being one of the most musically diverse cities in North America, gave me the ability to grow and play almost every night with musicians from all over the world.

Experience the world

After 10 years of working full time and no less than five nights a week, I started looking for opportunities to expand my horizon and try something totally new. I opted to get a gig abroad and what a great decision that turned out to be. Music has taken me all over the world, from places like Bangkok to Spain to Dubai to Hong Kong, just to name a few.

After my experience of traveling the world, managing and booking my own bands and meeting hundreds of musicians I came to the realization that there was a real need for a company that understood music, musicians and entertainment as well as night clubs and business owners. Oh and just for the record it’s pronounced “EL-Live” and not “ee-Live” :).

Live music is timeless

We believe that music is humanity’s greatest gift and live music in particular is the best way to experience it. From day one I did not want an agency. I’m almost allergic to the word. The idea was always to build a music community we could be proud of. We wanted to create a production house where no detail was ever too small; from the drum groove to our ladies’ makeup to the way we shake hands. It’s a life style that has been revered and envied throughout time, from Mozart to Miles Davis to Jimi Hendrix to Usher.

Talent is a dull knife

Contrary to popular belief, the most talented musicians are not the ones that enjoy longevity. It’s the ones with the best work ethic. In French, rehearsal translates into “repetition”. If you want to be a musician you have to play music as often as possible and in as many different places as possible. It is impossible to do this gig and not improve, 6 nights a week in front of audiences from all over the world and all ages. With this level of constant training and feed back, your transformation is guaranteed, but you have to want it.
